Description

In an effort to get Louisiana businesses the economic support they need, Act 311 of the Louisiana 2020 Regular Session set aside $300 million from the CARES Act for a small business grant program. The Main Street Recovery Program is designed to provide financial assistance to local small businesses that have not previously received government aid or insurance payments. It’s estimated that up to 100,000 businesses may be eligible for these funds, so navigating the application process quickly and accurately will be crucial. Meet the Speakers John Schroder John Schroder was elected Louisiana State Treasurer in 2017 and was just re-elected to a four-year term. As a businessman and entrepreneur, he believes government should manage its money like you manage your businesses and households. He believes government should be more transparent and accountable, which would help to restore faith in government. In his two years in office, the Treasury returned more unclaimed property checks than any other year on record, and saved the state millions of dollars by renegotiating contracts and forcing departments to restructure their borrowing habits. Treasurer Schroder is a U.S. Army Vet and served 10 years in the Louisiana House of Representatives. He is a graduate of East Jefferson High School and Southeastern Louisiana University. Above all, he is a husband of 34 years, father of two and an extremely proud grandfather to two grandchildren. Rachel Kincaid Rachel Kincaid serves as the Deputy Treasurer to Louisiana State Treasurer John M. Schroder. Ms. Kincaid has more than 20 years of service to the State of Louisiana, having served as Chief of Staff and Vice President at the University of New Orleans as well as Vice President for External Affairs at the University of Louisiana System.
